Joseph Desch, DVM, MS, ACVS, started a surgical specialty practice in 1987 in Kansas City which became the Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center of Kansas City, which is also a BluePearl partner hospital.  He brought his skills as a surgeon and administrator to BluePearl Veterinary Partners in Minnesota at its inception in 2009.  Prior to opening his own practice, he was an assistant professor of surgery at Oklahoma State from 1980 to 1983 and then at Kansas State University from 1983 to 1987.
